About Golden Age Audio
Golden Age Audio was founded in 2005 with the goal of making high-end studio equipment accessible to hobbyists and professionals alike. We saw first-hand how the industry was changing and needed more versatile solutions. Creating music was no longer confined to merely a few big studios, but had changed to something that could be done from basically anywhere! This shift created a greater demand for high-quality studio equipment that is within reach of pro and amateur studio engineers alike. Understanding this, we designed and began selling replicas of the classic RCA 77 microphone at a consumer-friendly price point without sacrificing build or performance quality.
Early response to early Golden Age products was overwhelmingly positive.
In 2006, we found ourselves projected onto the world stage with the release of the Pre-73 mic preamp. The Pre-73 was the first classic console preamp reproduction to finally deliver the classic (and often unattainable) British preamp performance to pros and hobbyists alike.
Not long after its release, its distinctive red chassis suddenly started appearing in major and hobbyist studios around the world.

Our winning Pre-73 concept blended modern ingenuity with innovative functionality to create a unique product. Our team not only enhanced the superb warm and musical characteristics of the classic design, but were also able to engineer a product which offered excellent performance while meeting a more affordable price than the original.
Over the following years the Golden Age family of products has grown. Our present-day collection now extends to condenser and dynamic microphones, outboard gear, and accessories.
We are passionate about our continuing mission to create new and exciting Golden Age Audio products and feel very grateful for the amazing response we get from musicians, producers, studios, industry press, and supporters worldwide.
About Our Founder
Golden Age Audio was founded by Bo Medin in 2005 with a focus on affordability without sacrificing build quality; cautiously choosing select factories where the products are made by hand.
Today, Bo remains a close friend of the brand as we carry the Golden Age torch into the future. We continue to work very closely with Bo’s carefully-selected manufacturers that uphold consistently high quality. It’s how Golden Age Audio has worked for a long time, and how we will continue to do so.
